Wedding Bells

The diary :

Friday March 5th, 1976
"Didn't really want to go into college for two hours, but, must do the work if I want to pass ONC. Anyway, I'm getting married in the morning, Home on train as usual, Mums had a cake done for the wedding, soopah"

Saturday March 6th
"Didn't get much sleep last night, woke early but I was a bit late for the ceremony, which was really nice. Back to 51 for cake etc. Went to Jans to bed then party that night, was a bit 'chemicked' "

Sunday March 7th.
"Woke up with the wife next to me, took the Volkswagen to 51, with Jan (for me stuff) and a cuppa and a piece of wedding cake. Jan cried her eyes out when I left her for the train"

It was that moment of transition, and even with my older jaded eyes I recall that I loved the girl I married, yes it felt forced upon the pair of us, but I think we both believed that the day was the end of the roller coaster ride and our troubles, a new hope for a long future together.
