Scalded Cat

On the way back from APPH at Speke one night (a repeat of every night) I'd stopped once or twice to put water into the radiator, the car was continuously overheating like mad, mainly because I had not done anything to fix the situation.

I stopped on the Dual carriageway near Ormskirk (the one that my brother and myself used to do the bike time trials back in the Prescot road club days) and, distracted, took the radiator cap off without covering it.

Scalding hot water sprayed up all over my right arm and burnt so bad. I stripped my shirt off and drove to the nearby Ormskirk hospital emergency department.

They dressed all my arm with 'Red for Burns' a gel like substance - I was convinced that my skin had all blistered up, in fact it hadn't as it was only classed as a first degree burn, but I still had scars.

What a pillock, it took two or more years for that scarring to finally dissapear.
