One afternoon the same wheeler dealer who had sold me the MK-I Cortina was installing a centre console in this reasonable looking Ford Escort. I asked him how much he was selling it for but he harumphed and ignored me. Well sod him.....time passed and I noticed another Escort in the local paper so went off to buy it - it was the same one!

The guy was the wheeler-dealers brother in law or something - anyway, I bought it off him for 140 quid and was made up with it. I'll always remember the wheeler-dealers face as he drove past the house one day and saw me with it, subsequently slamming his brakes on for a better look.
