The Commodore 64 was taking up quite a lot of my time, I was dabbling in assembly language and was often overjoyed to see three or more sprites darting across the screen instead of dawdling.
Of course, more often than not my efforts would end up with the machine locking up and pretending to be a housebrick.
John Wingate had trumped me and bought a Commodore 128 but it was obvious that he did not know what he was doing and when we asked, did not even know how much he had paid for it!
You know you're a geek when you have books like "Programming the 6502" around the house, a bucket of homebrew popping away and little notebooks full of handy tips and charts of specific gravities.
