The sewing kit was in the stress office to replace buttons and the like, popped off as our girths expanded with all the lukewarm sausage sandwiches from the tea cart.
The one other prank we played was actually on John Wingate, it was simple enough to take his cloth cap and sew it one size smaller.
It may sound childish, but office life was boring and occasionally we all had to have a comedic moment to brighten up the day, the payoff occurred at the end of the shift when "everyone who was in the know" watched John parade out of the office, struggling to put his hat on and puzzling about why his head had grown bigger.
