End of an Era

February, 1987

It had been around six months since the make or break holiday with Karen and we were still together, the routine was slightly changed but the social life was still focused around the pub scene, which wasn't so good.

It seemed that she was moving, her mum and dad had sold the house in Winstanley and were moving to Chorley to open up a little grocery store. It was going to set the cat amongst the pigeons once again and with the social scene the way it was in the UK would potentially have meant the end of our relationship.

I think it was a Saturday lunchtime, one of a few where Karen had time off from her job in Ince, I was quite sober and just asked her if she would move in with me, it was a matter of fact, practical solution to the upcoming cataclysm.

It was something she had not even thought about, but regardless, she said yes.

The Barret house I was living in was incredibly small, but it would do the job for the pair of us, it all made perfect sense and within a few days she had moved in and my life was all about knickers and bras once again.
